Success was assessed by clinical improvement and significant decrease or disappearance of bacteriuria,and the following result was obtained. Mild side reaction was observed in 6 cases out of 75 cases.
Neisseria gonorrheae 93.1% Coliform bacilli 100%
Escherichia coli 91.1% Enterococci 50%
Pseudomonas Group 25.0% Gram negative bacilli 100%
Proteus Group 100.0% Others 25%
Overall effectiveness of Bactrim was 81.3% of acute and chronic urinary tract infections.
Bactrim was the most sensitive agent for bacteria in this study and the sensitivities were Bactrim 80
%; Kanamycin 60%; Chloramphenicol 55%; Neomycin 48.3%; Penicillin 36.7%; Leucomycin 30%;
